Fast cool wind on a warm sunny day, hundreds of exciting scents to sniff, millions of things to see (and perhaps bark at). All these exciting sensations are what your dog takes in when they ride in the car and stick their head out the window. And this is why why your dog gets so excited when they know they get to go for a ride.

Perhaps this is the reason you don’t make your little dog wear a safety belt. If they can’t reach the window, they won’t enjoy traveling in the car with you. You want to keep your little dog safe but you just don’t want to take away something your dog loves so much. Believe it or not, there are products out there which allow your little dog to be safe and also gives them the enjoyment of the window breeze. It’s called a pet booster seat. Most pet booster seats are well padded. The seats may either strap to the seat of the car or sit on high sturdy legs. This type of seat offers a safe and secure alternative to your lap by providing enough elevation for your little dog to have a clear view of the road, a swift breeze from the window, and a comfortable padded seat to snuggle up in when they are on longer trips. Some dog booster seats utilize the seat belt of the car and most have a tether strap which connects to the dog’s harness to keep them secure. When the tether strap is used with your dog’s harness, it provides extra safety should you be so unfortunate as to get into a car wreck. You wear a seat belt. Shouldn’t your dog have protection in the car too?
