When we get into the car, it’s so completely ingrained in us to put on our seat belts. In fact, in many places, it’s an explicit law that everyone in the car must be wearing a seat belt. The driver is even liable if a passenger in the car is not properly wearing a seat belt. But if we’re so careful and organized about strapping in every time we get in the car, why wouldn’t we take that same care with our pets?
Our pets, after all, are just as likely to get injured in a collision as we are, and if they aren’t properly secured, they could experience moderate to fatal injuries. But it’s not a good idea to simply secure your dog any way you know how. This could result in ineffective pet auto safety. With that in mind, the safest and best option for concerned pet owners is to invest in dog safety belts. These are specially designed to keep your pets safe, even if you are in a crash or have to stop suddenly.
